I've been where you are right now.

Let me share my story with you.

Not too long ago, I was suffocating. 

Every pressure around me pushed me to be someone I wasn't. 

My environment, my relationships, my career – my place in life.

You know how crushing that feeling is. How stifled you are when you feel like you can’t escape your circumstances.

My true self was chained to the ground.

The breaking point? 

I found myself in an empty apartment, selling my own jeans just to pay rent. 

I stole food to survive. 

Yes, it was better than being caged like I had been…

…except I was still locked up. I just held the keys instead of someone else.

It wasn't the dream I had for myself. Far from it. 

This moment was when I decided to unlock myself and throw away the key.

I chose action.

I stood back, took a deep breath, and made a plan. 

It wasn't easy. Certainly wasn't immediate.

These changes I made were bearing fruit.

I started by looking at myself in the mirror…

Eye to eye…

And I promised to find a lucrative job that could deliver a better life.

I went out and I earned it.

I fought every single day for that job in a man’s world delivering packages to doorsteps.

When I made sure I was safe, I wanted more.

I wanted my own house.

I bought it.

Wanted my dream car.

Drove it myself off the lot…

…even after the salesman told me “You can’t afford it.”

I’m never going to be chained to someone else’s vision for my life.

The anger that bubbled up in me at that moment…

…blew away in the wind when I drove with the top down.

This was then and is still to this day the life I unapologetically live.

And that’s why I wrote The Flight of Your Life.

When I wrote it, it was a manifesto to myself more than anything.

But:

I knew there were others out there, just like me, struggling to break free from their cages.

And here it is:

Most people have been trained to see themselves as who they aren’t.

It pains me to see someone’s light just snuffed out.

We are humans with immeasurable potential.

But that potential has to be unleashed.

There’s nothing less human than being told “it’s not right for you…”

That's why I wrote "The Flight of Your Life: How to Get From Where You Are to Where You Dream to Be." 

It's not just a book.

This is all about giving yourself permission.

It’s about unlocking your cage.

It’s about throwing away your keys.

At some point you have to make a decision.

You have to take the risk on yourself.

You have to live consciously.

You must take responsibility for owning everything that is you.
